Chris Willey has a diverse and extensive work experience in various leadership roles. In 1996, they started as a Systems Administrator and Senior Web Developer at The Enterprise Foundation until 2000. From 2001 to 2004, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at One Economy Corporation. Following that, they worked as the Chief Technology Officer for the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments from 2004 to 2008. Chris then joined DC Government as the Deputy Chief Technology Officer for Infrastructure Services in 2008, later becoming the Interim Chief Technology Officer and Deputy Chief Technology Officer until 2010. From 2010 to 2011, they were the Deputy Chief Information Officer at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Chris then moved on to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, serving as the Chief Information Officer from 2011 to 2013 and as the Senior Adviser for Technology from 2013 to 2014. In 2014, Chris founded Ideality Mode LLC and worked as the Founder and CEO until 2017. Chris then joined BeamIO as the Chief Technology Officer from 2017 to 2022. Currently, they are working as the CTO for EagleHawk starting in 2022. Alongside their professional career, Chris has also been a Career Coach since 2014.
Chris Willey obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Comparative Literature from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they studied from 1988 to 1994. Chris then pursued higher education and completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business from the University of Maryland, attending from 2005 to 2008. Additionally, in 2015, Chris obtained a certification in Full Stack Web Development from Udacity.
