Gaurav Bhargava

Gaurav Bhargava is the Chief Risk Officer at Earnin. Gaurav was previously an Advisor at Guardinex from July 2018 to April 2019, and Vice President at Tala from October 2017 to June 2019.

At Tala, Gaurav led the Credit and Data Science teams, and was responsible for Underwriting, Line Management and Loss Mitigation strategies globally. Gaurav also played an instrumental role in Series C diligence to raise $65MM for the company.

Gaurav has been instrumental in launching the credit product in India and Mexico, and introducing risk-based pricing strategies to change the one-size-fits-all model. Gaurav has also designed a loss mitigation strategy that has improved collections by 400%.

Gaurav Bhargava has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from The Wharton School and a Master of Science (MS) in Operations Research from North Carolina State University. Gaurav also has a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi.

They are on a team with Yair Rivlin - Chief Product Officer, Rohan Kohli - Chief Compliance Officer, and Ofer Shaked - CTO. Gaurav Bhargava reports to Ram Palaniappan, CEO & Founder.
