Who we’re looking for You are an early-career professional with a passion for community engagement and career education. You enjoy communicating with a variety of stakeholders and have strong follow-through to ensure internal team members and partners receive the details and documents needed for successful educational project outcomes. You are organized, collaborative, flexible, and produce high-quality work with a strong eye for detail. You have experience with diverse communities, including but not limited to people of color, women, people with lower incomes, LGBTQ individuals, rural residents, and justice-impacted individuals who have faced obstacles to employment. You are excited by the idea of helping these new workers find living wages and high road careers consisting of quality employment with clear advancement opportunities in the sustainable building industry, as well as helping existing workers develop and deepen their knowledge of green building practices.

Role description In this role, you will support Earth Advantage’s workforce training team, which educates new and existing workers on best practices and opportunities within sustainable residential construction. The primary function of this role involves working with a team to coordinate training deliveries (offered online and in-person) and communicate with participants.

  • Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, ranging from instructors to community based partners to new and existing workers, in support of Earth Advantage’s workforce training programs.
  • Carry out training preparation tasks, including coordinating with instructors, scheduling and listing events, preparing materials, communicating with participants, and hosting trainings.
  • Collaborate on marketing efforts and develop clear, informative written materials highlighting workforce training for newsletter, blog, workforce hub, social media, and outreach.
  • Participate in events and job fairs by coordinating logistics, preparing displays and materials, and speaking with interested attendees.
  • Assist with determining trainee eligibility and access to career support services, scholarships, mentorship connections, and job placements.
  • Work with online training platforms to ensure ease of use and successful participant completion.
  • Complete training follow-up tasks, including issuing continuing education credits and professional designations, maintaining database records, and documenting training evaluations.
  • Assist with partner and/or funder relationships and contracts through project tracking and reporting.
  • Respond to general inquiries for the Workforce Training programs.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required qualifications

  • Deep commitment to Earth Advantage’s mission.
  • Prior experience in an administrative support role.
  • Sincere interest in advocating for sustainable building as a means of mitigating climate impact and improving community economic resilience.
  • Experience and/or knowledge in building community relationships to foster positive outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, including courteous phone skills and clear, informative writing.
  • High motivation and ability to take initiative and complete tasks independently while working collaboratively with an engaged team.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with an ability to quickly learn new online platforms.
  • We require staff and interns to be fully vaccinated to work in the office. The organization will consider accommodations for disability and religious-based reasons.

Preferred qualifications

  • Spanish language proficiency
  • 1-3 years of experience working in community development, social work, education, employment, sustainability, clean energy, construction, real estate, or business sectors.
  • Credentials demonstrating interest in the sustainable building industry (i.e. Green Building Trainee, LEED Green Associate, Sustainable Homes Professional, etc.)
  • Prior experience with income-eligible programs or home weatherization programs.
  • Proficiency with project management platforms, web design, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and/or webinar hosting.
  • A bachelor’s degree in education, sociology, sustainability, business, communications, or related field.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.

**Compensation ** $27.81 hourly wage
