Earth Island Institute
Scott Hochberg serves as the General Counsel and Litigation Director at Earth Island Institute since July 2024. Prior experience includes serving as the Transportation Attorney at the Center for Biological Diversity, where strategic litigation focused on improving vehicle fuel efficiency standards and transitioning to electric vehicles for environmental justice. As a Disability Attorney at Atticus, Scott provided legal services to low-income clients seeking federal disability benefits and contributed to expanding the legal referral program. Scott founded the Workers' Rights program at Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto, achieving significant outcomes for immigrant clients and promoting economic justice through community campaigns. Additional roles include legal internships at Make the Road New York, the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, and ProBAR. Scott holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and an AB in Political Theory from Brown University.
