We work in a Hybrid work environment, where our teams are in the office Monday-Wednesday and working remotely Thursday and Friday. Our office is in the Flatiron District NYC.

Overview of Position:

The Licensing Sales Manager will be responsible for the development and growth of certain clients. Responsibilities include strategic planning, business development, and management of both clients and licensees. The Sales Manager will actively seek new business partnerships on behalf of our company’s clients and work closely with existing licensees to execute overall program vision.  

Responsibilities:

  • Actively research prospective new licensees to determine their potential, as well as product extensions and/or related services within any brand portfolio.
  • Work with team to follow a business strategy that will help in achieving the sales targets outlined by the company for the brand portfolio.
  • Implement effective plans that will help team members improve sales.
  • Be innovative and improve techniques to achieve maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned brand.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to understand their issues and support to resolve them.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with brands and licensees.
  • Makes telephone calls and conduct presentations to existing and prospective licensees, secures new business accounts/customers.
  • Expedites the resolution of client/licensee’s issues. Prepares quarterly sales recaps to keep abreast of licensee activity.
  • Weekly or bi-weekly follow up calls with existing licensees to review sales, retail outreach, wins and opportunities.
  • Works with Finance team to ensure quarterly royalty reporting is happening with the client.
  • Coordinate sales effort with either internal or external marketing, sales management and accounting.
  • Supply management with oral and written reports on licensees needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas.
  • Attend trade shows and conferences to keep up with industry trends, innovative practices.
  • Work on complex contract negotiations and proposal development for new prospects in partnership with legal team.
  • Lead negotiations and executes new licensing deals, increasing royalty revenue growth.
  • Ensure that sales targets have either been met or exceeded.
  • Confidence and energy to tap and identify new potential market areas.
  • Work with Creative team to ensure they are involved in the licensee process.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven track record of five or more years working in sales for licensing.

  • Experience across a variety of industries including Food and Consumer Products, Corporate, and Entertainment licensing a plus.

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Including the ability to effectively interact with a wide range of personalities and styles.

  • Fast paced work environment requires strong multitasking skills, proactive, excellent time management, and a high attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Exhibits Leadership Skills to drive and motivate team members and major projects or initiatives and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, and strong organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Entrepreneurial, creative, and open to change as the business demands it.

Compensation: $75,000-$90,000 based on experience
