Jason Lampel

Jason Lampel has over 17 years of work experience in the geospatial and web development fields. In 2021, they began working as a Senior Frontend Developer for EarthOptics. Jason also owns A Better Map, LLC, a business they started in 2013 to combine their love of geography and passion for web development. From 2015-2013, they worked as a Web Application Developer for Colorado State University's CEMML (Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands). In 2013, they were an ESRI Trainer for NexGen Technologies, Inc. From 2012-2011, they were a Mobile GIS Specialist and Biological Science Aide for ELYON International and the US Fish and Wildlife Service, respectively. From 2009-2006, they were a GIS Analyst and Technician for the Center for the Environmental Management of Military Lands - Colorado State University, as well as a GIS Technician for Pacific Western Technologies (Federal Highway Administration contract). In 2005, they were a GIS Specialist for Harris Corporation (Bureau of Land Management contract), and in 2004, they were a GIS Intern for the Bureau of Land Management (via Chicago Botanic Garden).

Jason Lampel attended Central Michigan University from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Geography and minors in GIS and Natural Resources.
