Thanakrit Thongfa

Thanakrit Thongfa is an experienced human rights advocate with a focus on environmental and community issues. Currently serving as the Mekong Campaign Coordinator and Associate at EarthRights International since July 2017, Thanakrit engages in community organizing, Community Health Impact Assessment, and youth initiatives while facilitating training and exchanges on legal matters and transboundary impacts. As a Co-Founder of R2S | Right to Space, Right to Speak, Thanakrit addresses the challenges faced by ethnic minority communities due to climate change. Additionally, Thanakrit is a Professional Fellow with the U.S. Department of State, where involvement includes a program with the Montana Department of Environmental Quality. Co-founding the Klity D-Jung Youth Group further highlights Thanakrit's commitment to environmental issues in Klity village. Previous experience includes serving as a Human Rights Pro-Bono Lawyer at ENLAW and extensive educational background in law and human rights.
