Gillian Sharer

Gillian Sharer is an experienced professional in the field of geophysics and seismology, currently serving as Engineering Manager at EarthScope Consortium since January 2023. Prior to this role, Gillian held various positions at the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) from 2006 to 2022, including Deputy Director of Quality Assurance, leading a team focused on data quality assurance within the IRIS archive, and as a USArray Data Control Analyst, monitoring seismic stations. Earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Scientist at ENSCO, Inc. from 2000 to 2006, and as a Geophysicist at Chevron from 1998 to 1999, where Gillian specialized in interpreting seismic data for drilling targets. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Geophysics and Seismology from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Earth and Planetary Science from Washington University in St. Louis.
