Nicolas Bayou is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in polar science and aerospace engineering. Currently serving as Engineer III in the Polar Group at EarthScope Consortium since January 2023, Nicolas focuses on maintaining POLENET autonomous GPS sites and enhancing power systems in challenging polar environments. Prior to this role, Nicolas spent nearly a decade at UNAVCO in a similar capacity. Previous positions include Professional Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder, freelance engineering for Lafayette Consulting, and engineering roles at Eaton Aerospace, Parker Hannifin, and Snecma, where Nicolas contributed to various cutting-edge aerospace projects. Nicolas holds a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nancy and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from Classes Prepa Lycee Descartes.
