Shelley Olds

Shelley Olds is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in instructional design, education, and geology. Currently serving as Instructional Designer III at EarthScope Consortium since January 2023, Shelley's previous roles include Science Education Specialist and Interim Director of the Education & Outreach Program at UNAVCO from October 2006 to August 2023. Additional experience includes positions as Metadata Architect and Instructional Designer at the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, Project Lead/Digital Library Architect at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, and various roles in instructional design and project management at Electronic Learning Facilitators, UMBC, and Handex Consulting & Remediation. Shelley holds a PhD in Human Dimensions specialization in Natural Resources from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, an M.Ed. in Instructional Systems Development from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, and a B.Sc. in Geology/Geophysics from Millersville University of Pennsylvania.
