Julia Chanin is an experienced professional in music education and social-emotional development, currently serving as Program Associate for School Partnerships and Student Development, as well as Music Faculty at East Bay Center for the Performing Arts since January 2016. In this role, Julia teaches K-5th grade classes, focusing on community music-making, and coordinates music programs in Richmond public schools. Previous experiences include serving as Senior Lead Guide at Pacific Quest, where Julia implemented therapeutic techniques for at-risk adolescents, and as a Social Work Intern at Lawyers for Children, advocating for youth in foster care. Julia's early career involved leadership in a musical mentoring program and various teaching roles, alongside academic achievements in Latin American Studies and Music from Wesleyan University and Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro.
