Eliane Fersan

Eliane Fersan has a diverse and extensive work experience in various organizations and roles. Eliane currently serves as the Vice President of Philanthropy at the East Bay Community Foundation. Previously, they were the Chief Executive Officer at Global Nexus Solutions LLC where they played a key role in stabilizing and streamlining operations during a restructuring phase.

Eliane also held the position of Executive Vice President at the East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation, where they successfully designed and implemented a $10 million capital campaign. Prior to that, they served as the Director at the University of Southern California, specifically in the US School of Law, Immigrants and Global Migration Initiative, where they were a subject matter expert and thought leader on immigration issues.

Eliane also has experience working for the U.S. Department of State as the MEPI Program Manager, Political Advisor, and MEPI Alumni Coordinator, where they provided political advice on human rights and civil society development. Eliane's work experience also includes being the Founding Executive Director at the Youth and Culture Center - Zouk Mikael, Adjunct Professor of History at the American University of Science and Technology, and a Research Affiliate at Notre Dame University - Louaize.

Additionally, they worked at the United Nations Population Fund as the Assistant Regional Communications Director, responsible for producing media news bulletins and writing feature stories in multiple languages. Earlier in their career, they served as the Assistant Secretary General (Chief Operating Officer) at the General Secretariat of Catholic Schools in Lebanon, Middle East, and North Africa, where they led a team and implemented ISO 90001 systems.

In 2009, Eliane pursued additional certificates to expand their knowledge and skills. Eliane received a Certificate in Conflict Resolution Analysis and Interfaith Conflict Resolution from the United States Institute for Peace Institute (USIP).

During the same year, they also earned Grants Management Certificates from the U.S. Department of State Foreign Service Institute, specializing in Grant Management and Exchange Programs Management.

In 2015, Eliane attended the Radio Netherlands Training Center (RNTC) in Hillversum, The Netherlands, where they received a Diploma in Mass Communication/Media Studies.

In 2017, they participated in a Fellowship program at the University of Denver, focusing on Political Communication.

Currently, Eliane is pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Public Leadership at the University of San Francisco, which they are expected to complete between 2021 and 2023.
