Daniel R. Sykes, CPRP, is a seasoned park management professional with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving as the Parkland Unit Manager at East Bay Regional Park District since March 2015, Daniel oversees a team of over 40 staff members and manages an annual budget of $5 million across 10 regional parks. Prior to this role, Daniel was the Parks Services Manager for Solano County Parks and Recreation, where responsibilities included managing park ranger staff and overseeing operations, planning, and development for several county parks. Daniel's career in park planning began as a Senior Park Planner at East Bay Regional Park District, followed by earlier roles in environmental and transportation planning at Parsons Brinckerhoff. Daniel holds a B.S. in Environmental Planning and Management from the University of California, Davis, and has completed several certifications and training programs related to park management and public safety.
