Erin Blackwood is a naturalist currently employed at East Bay Regional Park District since September 2022, following a position as an Environmental Education & Outreach Specialist at San Francisco State University from January 2022 to September 2022. Previously, Erin served as the Educational Outreach Coordinator at the Estuary & Ocean Science Center from 2007 to 2022, where responsibilities included translating complex scientific concepts for diverse audiences, managing educational programs, and improving outreach initiatives. Prior experience includes roles as a Science Education Specialist at Bay Area Discovery Museum and various educational positions at The Marine Mammal Center, Oceanic Society, and other organizations. Erin holds a Master’s degree in Natural Science/Environmental Education from Western Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
