Talia Schmitt

Talia Schmitt is an accomplished naturalist and environmental educator with extensive experience in program development and community outreach. Currently serving as a naturalist at East Bay Regional Park District since January 2025, Talia creates ecological and cultural programs for the public and facilitates Ohlone cultural lessons for school groups. Previous roles include coalition manager at Washington Outdoor Schools Coalition, where Talia built membership and coordinated outreach, and instructor at IslandWood and North Cascades Institute, focusing on residential environmental education programming. As CEO and guide for NatureWalks with Talia, Talia leads educational nature walks. Talia also has a rich background in environmental science education, having developed virtual lessons for middle school students at NatureBridge and co-founding the Environmental Student Leadership Initiative. Talia's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from William & Mary.
