Janelle Rodrigues

Janelle Rodrigues has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries.

Janelle is currently serving as the Chief of Workforce Development at East Bay Regional Park District, where they manage a team of professionals and oversees recruitment, training, benefits, and labor relations.

Prior to that, they worked at the City of Oakland, first as the Employee Relations Manager and later as a Principal Employee Relations Analyst. In these roles, they represented the city in labor negotiations with unions, provided guidance on policies and labor laws, and supervised a team of skilled professionals.

Before joining the public sector, Rodrigues was the Managing Partner at Buffett-Kennedy & Smith LLP, where they focused on employment and business law, representing clients in various legal matters.

Janelle also worked as an Attorney at Stall Parker LLP, handle a wide range of legal cases, and ran their own law firm, handling small business and employment law matters.

Earlier in their career, they gained valuable experience as a Federal Judicial Extern, assisting a federal district court judge in drafting orders and carrying out legal research.

Rodrigues also had stints in HR management roles at Mercator MedSystems, Inc. and Willow Farms LLC. Overall, they bring a strong background in labor relations, legal expertise, and HR management to their current role.

Janelle Rodrigues completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley, between 2001 and 2007. Following that, they pursued a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Law from the University of San Francisco School of Law, graduating between 2008 and 2011. Recently, in 2021, they obtained an Executive Certificate from Harvard Law School, specifically in the Program on Negotiation. Additionally, Janelle holds a certification as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from SHRM, although the specific month and year of attainment are unknown.
