East End Hospice

Certified in 1991, East End Hospice, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, provides care and comfort for terminally ill patients, their families and loved ones living on the North and South Forks of Long Island, including Eastern Brookhaven. Health care professionals and volunteers offer pain management and symptom control as well as palliative care, social, emotional and spiritual support to patients and their loved ones in a comfortable and caring environment. EEH seeks to promote awareness of the benefits of hospice care in our communities through educational and informational presentations to civic, fraternal, and religious groups, professional organizations, and educational institutions. Supporting families through the times of grief is an essential part of our Hospice service, including children’s bereavement programs and Camp Good Grief – our acclaimed five day bereavement day camp for children aged 4 to 17 who have experienced a loss, now in its 18th year. Campers attend small group therapy, art therapy, sports and games, and various group activities to help them cope with their grief. The camp is completely free-of-charge to all participants. In addition, the Good Grief Family Bereavement Center offers grief counseling for parents and children, as well as separate adult bereavement groups. The construction of an eight-bed inpatient hospice facility to serve the many residents of our East End communities who can no longer remain in their homes is underway. This facility will offer the latest state-of-the-art technology and will be equipped to safely accommodate terminally ill patients.
