President EWC Alumni Association Of Malaysia at East-West Center

Khanif Yusop FASc has a diverse range of work experience. Khanif is currently serving as the President of the Alumni Association of Belgian Universities since September 2021. In 2018, they held the position of President of the East West Center (EWC) Alumni Association of Malaysia.

Prior to these roles, Khanif Yusop worked at Universiti Putra Malaysia where they held multiple positions. From September 2014 to August 2016, they served as the Director of the Institute of Plantation Studies. Additionally, they were a Professor at the university from October 2003 to August 2016, focusing on teaching, research, supervision of graduate students, and consultancy. During this time, their interests centered around N fertilizer efficiency, controlled release urea, micro-nutrients, green house gas emission, and rice productivity. At the same university, Khanif Yusop also held the role of Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture from an unspecified date in 2001 to August 2006.

Furthermore, Khanif Yusop has experience in leadership roles outside the university sector. Khanif served as the President of BIM (Malaysian Professional Centre) from July 2013 to August 2015. Additionally, they held the position of President at the Agricultural Institute of Malaysia (AIM) from an unspecified date in 2007 to 2015.

Khanif Yusop FASc received a Bachelor of Science degree in Tropical Agriculture from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1973. Prior to that, they obtained a Diploma in Agriculture from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 1971. Khanif later pursued a Master of Science degree in Soil Sciences from the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 1973 to 1975. Khanif Yusop FASc then completed their Doctorate in Agricultural Science in the field of Soil Sciences from Ghent University from 1979 to 1983.
