Tim Brown

Senior Fellow at East-West Center

Dr. Tim Brown is a Senior Fellow in the Research Program at East-West Center where he directs a small team of epidemiologists and programmers in developing and applying tools for HIV modeling and analysis. He works closely with UNAIDS, the Global Fund, Avenir Health and national partners throughout Asia to improve national responses to HIV epidemics and ensure available resources are invested to produce the greatest benefits. He is a member of the UNAIDS Reference Group on Estimates, Modeling and Projection, an advisor to UNAIDS and the Global Fund on HIV modeling and evaluation issues, and an advisor to the Scientific Committee on AIDS and STD in Hong Kong. Before joining the Center, he was formerly assistant professor in electrical engineering, University of Hawai'i; adjunct assistant professor in the Program on Computing, Department of Mathematics, University of California at Los Angeles; and applications group manager, AMETEK Computer Research Division, Pasadena.
