Lee Umphrey

Lee Umphrey is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in economic development, public health, and strategic communications. Currently serving as President and CEO of Eastern Maine Development Corporation since October 2018, Lee facilitates public-private partnerships to promote economic growth and prosperity for businesses, communities, and individuals. Previously, Lee held the CEO position at Harrington Family Health Center, where leadership focused on delivering quality healthcare services in Washington County, Maine. Additional roles include Director of Strategic Development and Communications at IDP Foundation, and various positions in government relations and public affairs, including Director of Communications for the Office of the Governor of Maine. Lee is recognized for advancing legislative initiatives such as the America COMPETES Act and has been involved in securing significant funding for community projects. Lee holds a BA in History and Political Science from Iowa Wesleyan College.
