Stefano Colafranceschi is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in physics and engineering. As an Assistant Professor at Eastern Mennonite University since August 2018, Stefano contributes to academic advancement. Concurrently, at CERN, Stefano holds roles as an Associate Researcher and Senior Fellow, focusing on the development of Micro Pattern Gas Detectors and the GEM technology performance for the CMS Experiment. Previously, Stefano worked as a Senior Engineer and System Engineer at CERN, where responsibilities included managing hardware implementation and software integration for high-energy physics technologies. Additional experience includes serving as a Guest Professor at the Florida Institute of Technology and maintaining an applied physicist role at INFN since October 2006. Stefano's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Engineering Physics from the University of Rome - "La Sapienza," along with multiple degrees in aerospace engineering.
