Frank DeCarlo, a senior chemical engineer, manages the ERG process engineering team that supports the U.S. Navy and U.S. Department of Defense in their production of chemicals, energetic materials, and hardware for use in arms, ammunition, and explosives. Frank applies his expertise in process engineering, occupational and explosives safety, and risk analysis to examine and evaluate the full lifecycle of manufacturing facilities and processes, from design, construction, and commissioning to operation, maintenance, and eventual decommissioning. For every stage of the process, Frank conducts vital hazard and engineering analyses and develops detailed technical documentation to ensure the safety of government personnel and assets while meeting the DoD’s critical mission.
Frank holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Rochester and an M.S. in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a licensed professional engineer and certified Project Management Professional (PMP)®, with additional training in hazard analysis, occupational health and safety, and explosives safety.
