Sanjay Agarwala

Sanjay Agarwala is the co-founder and Managing Director of Eastern Software Systems (ESS) Private Limited. In the recent years, Sanjay has been committed to taking ESS to the international markets so that Indian Software Products can find their rightful place under the sun. Under his guidance ESS’ ERP ebizframe has already reached 25+ countries in Africa and the Middle East. His company has also evangelised Africa as a great untapped market for India IPR which resulted in a large number of Indian software product companies venturing into, and finding success in Africa.

Sanjay is also a member the Executive Council of ESC (Electronics and Software Export Promotion Council of India) and also heads ESC’s Africa Committee.

In his 33 years of work experience, Sanjay has gone through cycles of venture capital investments and buybacks, as well as attracting investments from large international IT organizations. ESS is now a part of Beyondsoft Corporation, a Shenzhen Stock Exchange listed Chinese software and services company.

Sanjay holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A). Sanjay started his career with Escorts Ltd. where he was a part of the Corporate Market Research and Planning group.

Subsequently he worked with CMC for five years where he was responsible for marketing of several mega projects including those to the Telecom, Indian Railways, Banking, Aviation, Education and Agriculture sectors.

Sanjay spends a lot of time nursing his plants and is passionate about his Bonsai collection.
