Jeff Gromis

Executive Director of Facilities & Campus Services at Eastern University

Jeff Gromis has had a long and varied career in both the corporate world and the world of auto racing. Jeff began their career as an engineer with Armstrong World Industries, where they worked on various plant and corporate engineering projects across the country and in Canada. In 1998, they left Armstrong to become an auto racing correspondent for Lancaster Newspapers Inc. In this role, they covered races at various speedways across the country. In January 1985, they became the NASCAR chief steward at Grandview Speedway, a position they held for over 30 years. In addition to their work as a chief steward, Gromis has also served as a race director, promoter, head scorer, publicity director, corner flagger, and handicapper at various other speedways across the country.

Jeff Gromis completed a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Pennsylvania State University, followed by a BS in Mechanical Engineering at Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Berks.

They work with Randolph W. Walters - Special Assistant to the President for Diversity, Equity & Belonging, Jackie Irving - Assistant VP for Student Development, and Natissa Kultan-Pfautz - Associate VP for Advancement. Their manager is Ronald A. Matthews, President.
