Valerie Flower

Valerie Flower is a highly experienced theatre artist and educator with a career spanning over three decades. Currently serving as Professor and Chair of Theatre at Eastern University since August 2022, Valerie has directed more than sixty plays, musicals, and original works. Previous roles include Standardized Patient at ECFMG and Drama and English Teacher within the School District of Philadelphia, where engagement with K-8 special needs and ESOL students highlighted commitment to equitable education. Valerie's academic experience is further enhanced by tenure as Professor of Theatre at Messiah College and Theater Artist in Residence at Penn State Health's Hershey School of Medicine. Valerie holds a Ph.D. in Theatre from Tufts University, an MA in Theatre from Miami University, and a BS in Communication Arts and Theatre from Taylor University.
