Managing Partner at Eastside Partners

Emerson Fann co-founded Eastside Partners in 2005 and is the Managing Partner. His focus is on investment opportunities in healthcare. Prior to Eastside, Emerson was a Partner at Southeastern Technology Fund where he joined in 1998 as that firm’s first investment professional.

Southeastern funded 24 separate information technology businesses and generated top quartile returns for its investors. At Southeastern, Emerson was active with MedMined (acquired by Cardinal Health), Emageon (IPO and subsequent sale to Amicus), Investment Scorecard (Informa Solutions), Castlebridge Technologies (Software Technology Inc.) and Mobular Technologies.

Prior to Southeastern, Emerson was with Andersen Consulting focused on information technology consulting in the financial services sector. While at Andersen, Emerson managed large, complex software development engagements in credit card and loan application decisioning, assisted banking clients with merger integration, and worked on technology strategy and process re-engineering in the financial services sector.

At Eastside, Emerson has been actively involved with Agility Healthcare (acquired by GE), Awarix (McKesson), MEDSEEK (Silver Lake), Brightwhistle (Influence Health), Accelarad (Nuance), Jvion, Strategix Medical Solutions, Hospice Partners of America and Hygia Health Services (Stryker).

As Managing Partner of Eastside, he directs the firm’s investment strategy and has been a successful investor through two separate business cycles and over 100 investment transactions. Emerson is active with Eastside’s portfolio companies, assisting with executive recruitment, management incentive programs, exit planning and execution, and online lead generation.

Emerson received a B.S. in Corporate Finance with honors from the University of Alabama.
