Atty. Alfie D. Suarez

Atty. Alfie D. Suarez has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of Human Resources. Atty. Alfie currently holds the position of Executive Vice President & Head of Human Resources at East West Banking Corporation since January 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Vice President & Group Chief Human Resources Officer at Aboitiz Group from January 2022 to January 2023.

From April 2020 to January 2022, Atty. Suarez was the Chief Human Resources Officer at AboitizPower. Atty. Alfie also held the role of First Vice President & Head of HR Business Partnering and Centers of Excellence at PLDT from October 2018 to April 2020, where they were responsible for leading HR Business Partners and Generalists across the organization.

Atty. Suarez has also gained international experience, having served as the Human Resources Director Asia, Middle East & Africa Delivery Organization at DXC Technology from April 2017 to September 2018. Atty. Alfie was the Regional Human Resources Director at Hewlett Packard Enterprise from January 2012 to March 2017, overseeing HR functions in the Asia Pacific region and leading an HR Hub based in the Philippines.

Earlier in their career, Atty. Suarez held various HR leadership positions, including SBU HR Executive & Head at Jollibee Foods Corporation from August 2009 to December 2011, Vice President of Human Resources at AIG-Philippine American Life & General Insurance Company from April 2008 to July 2009, and Country Human Resources Manager at Motorola-ON Semiconductor from January 1998 to March 2008.

Atty. Alfie began their career as a Senior Corporate HR Officer at AIG-Philippine American Life & General Insurance Company from March 1996 to December 1997, where they were responsible for training and management development programs.

Atty. Alfie D. Suarez completed their elementary and secondary education at the University of St. La Salle - Bacolod from 1979 to 1989. Atty. Alfie then pursued their undergraduate degree at De La Salle University from 1989 to 1993, majoring in AB Behavioral Science - BS Commerce with a specialization in Business Management (LiaCom). In 1995, they obtained their Masters in Business Administration from De La Salle University. In 2001, they enrolled in the Arellano School of Law (Executive Program) and completed their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in 2006. Atty. Alfie also holds a certification from the Philippine Bar, obtained from the Supreme Court.
