Louis DeMenthon has worked in a variety of positions in the medical and technology fields. In 2009, they began working as a virology researcher at the UCLA School of Medicine, studying the mechanisms used by the Nippa Virus for infection. Later that year, they began working as a developmental biology researcher at Johns Hopkins Medical Institute. In 2010, they were a cancer genetics researcher at Johns Hopkins Medical Institute, searching for genetic markers of aggressive prostate cancer. In 2011, they were an assistant researcher at the UCLA Dept of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, testing and running simulations approximating the coalescent times of wolf/dog lineages. Louis also founded and created Swole.Me, a side project that eventually turned into a full-time job. Finally, in 2012, they founded and became CEO of Eat This Much, an automatic meal planner that builds meal plans based on desired caloric intake.
Louis DeMenthon attended the University of California, Los Angeles from 2007 to 2011, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics.
