Life Long Learning Painting Program Instructor at Ebenezer

Laurie Salmela is a seasoned art educator and proprietor with extensive experience in painting and community engagement. Since 2006, Laurie has served as the instructor for the Life Long Learning Painting Program at Ebenezer Loren Residence, focusing on watercolor techniques to promote mental acuity and right brain development among seniors. In addition to this role, Laurie has operated NKB Studio/Gallery 425 since 1998, providing a platform for visual artists and organizing public events in the Minneapolis Arts District. Laurie’s prior experience includes teaching art classes at the University of Minnesota Coffman Union Studio and serving as an adjunct professor at Hamline University, where a collaborative watercolor workshop was conducted. Laurie holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, graduating summa cum laude in painting from the University of Minnesota.
