Vitalii Kleshchevnikov is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Stegle group at the European Bioinformatics Institute | EMBL-EBI since June 2025, following a role as a Bioinformatician at the Wellcome Sanger Institute from February 2018 to March 2025. Vitalii's work focuses on developing AI/ML models for cell type identity and gene regulation, with ongoing contributions to spatial transcriptomics. Vitalii's expertise encompasses Bayesian modeling and spatial analysis, evidenced by the development of cell2location and various publications in prestigious journals. Vitalii has also held research assistant positions at multiple institutions, including A*STAR and the Bogomoletz Institute of Physiology, where skills in CRISPR technology, molecular interactions, and statistical analysis were honed. Vitalii obtained a PhD in Genome Sciences from the University of Cambridge and holds a Bachelor of Biology from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
