Jason Miller has a diverse range of work experience. Jason began their career as a Co-op student at Copeland Corp. in 2001. From there, they worked as a Summer Intern at NASA Glenn Research Center, where they conducted experiments on nickel base superalloys. Jason then served as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Akron, conducting research on reduce order modeling of frictional interfaces. During this time, they also taught several courses in control system design and mechanical engineering tools. After completing their research assistantship, Jason worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at Metal Quality Products, where they implemented calibration procedures and designed machine fixtures. Jason then joined Echogen Power Systems, starting as a System Engineer and eventually progressing to Engineering Manager. In these roles, they led the development and design of a 1.5MW marine heat engine, acted as the lead packaging engineer for mechanical, civil, and electrical integration, and played a key role in the design of a commercial waste heat engine prototype. Overall, Jason has demonstrated strong technical expertise and leadership skills throughout their career.
Jason Miller earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from The University of Akron, where they attended from 1998 to 2003. Jason further pursued their education at the same university and became a Doctoral Candidate in Mechanical Engineering from 2004 to 2010.
