Kaitlyn O'Hara has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Kaitlyn started their career in 2003 as a Legislative Assistant at the Office of Congressman Mark Udall, where they conducted research and advised on policy issues related to telecommunications, education, and women's issues, among others. In 2008, they worked as a Legal Researcher at DigitalGlobe, compiling and surveying remote sensing laws and identifying applications within environmental regulations. From 2009 to 2010, they served as the Government Relations Director at Paralyzed Veterans of America, where they created and implemented advocacy plans and addressed ADA accessibility concerns. Since 2010, they have been working at EchoStar as the Vice President and Associate General Counsel, leading the transactional legal aspects of satellite, real estate, and employment topics, and advising on international joint ventures. In 2021, they also took on the role of Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver - Sturm College of Law.

Kaitlyn O'Hara obtained their B.A. in Politics from The Catholic University of America, where they studied from 1999 to 2003. In 2006, they pursued a Juris Doctorate degree in Law at the University of Denver - Sturm College of Law, which they completed in 2008. Additionally, Kaitlyn O'Hara received certification from the Colorado Supreme Court and was admitted to the State of Colorado Bar in May 2009.
