Artur Barczyk

Artur Barczyk currently serves as Head of Core Infrastructure at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, where responsibilities include leadership and management of the organization's Network and Security, Data Center Engineering, Storage, and Servers infrastructure. Prior experience includes roles as Tech Lead HPC Systems and High Performance Computing Engineer at AstraZeneca, focusing on the Scientific Compute Platform for R&D. Artur also led the IT infrastructure team at MAX IV Laboratory, overseeing high-performance computing infrastructure and vendor relations. Earlier in their career, Artur contributed as a Technology Strategist at Cisco, a Senior Research Engineer at the California Institute of Technology, and held positions at CERN, University of Edinburgh, and Paul Scherrer Institut. Artur holds a Dr Sc Nat degree in Particle Physics from ETH Zürich.
