Joshua Buckland

Joshua Buckland is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in strategy and policy within the energy sector. Currently serving as the Director of Strategy and Policy at EDF (UK) since January 2025, Joshua also holds the position of Senior Fellow at Policy Exchange since July 2021. Previous roles include Advisor at Heat Geek and Partner/Director at Flint Global. Joshua has significant governmental experience, having worked as an Energy Advisor to the Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and as Head of the Energy Branch at HM Treasury. Additional experience includes serving as an Energy and Environment Advisor at 10 Downing Street and as a Private Secretary at HM Treasury, following time as a Policy Advisor during the Civil Service Fast Stream. Joshua holds a degree in Politics, Philosophy & Economics from the University of Warwick and has strong academic credentials from Gordon's School.
