Richard Cressey

Richard Cressey has extensive experience in public policy and strategy, currently serving as Director of Policy and Strategy at Westminster City Council since April 2012, with previous roles including Head of Governance and Councillor Liaison and Senior Policy and Strategy Officer. Key responsibilities have involved managing a £2.1 million commissioning budget and developing strategic partnerships. Prior to this, Cressey founded Politics Matters, an online political magazine aimed at enhancing engagement in UK politics. Additional experience includes roles at Staffordshire County Council as Communications Officer and Economic Development Officer, and an internship with James Plaskitt MP. Cressey holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Sector Management from the University of Warwick and a BA in International Relations and Politics from The University of Sheffield.
