Chiheb Zarg Layoun

Chiheb Zarg Layoun has over 20 years of experience in risk management and trading roles in the energy industry. Chiheb currently holds the position of Head of Front Office Risk at EDF Trading. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Manager, Front Office Risk and in a contractual role in risk management at the same company.

Before joining EDF Trading, Chiheb was self-employed, using their personal capital to trade equities, real estate, foreign exchange, and energy commodities. During this time, they also provided consultation services to energy retail startup companies in North America.

Chiheb's previous experience includes positions at NextEra Energy Resources, where they served as the Sr. Director, Options Trading Desk Head and Sr. Director of Market and Credit Risk. At Constellation Energy, they held the role of Vice President of Risk Management, leading the Market Risk Management group. Earlier in their career, Chiheb worked at Duke Energy and Duke Energy International in various strategic and analytical roles.

Throughout their career, Chiheb has demonstrated a strong track record in generating positive PnL, managing portfolios, and implementing risk management strategies. Chiheb has extensive experience in energy trading, risk controls, and developing hedging strategies.

Chiheb Zarg Layoun completed an MBA in Finance from the University of Houston, C.T. Bauer College of Business in 1998. Chiheb later obtained additional certifications, including becoming a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in April 2019, completing the Data Science Foundations: Fundamentals course from LinkedIn in July 2017, and earning the Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certification from the GARP FRM Program in October 2000.
