Dan Clay has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Dan started their career at BG Group as a Strategy Analyst in 1998 and then worked as a Trading Consultant for Cable & Wireless Communications from 2001 to 2003. In 2003, they joined Centrica as a Strategy Manager and later became the Head of Power, Carbon and Coal Analytics at Centrica Energy from 2007 to 2010. Dan then moved on to British Gas Business as the Head of Energy Hedging from 2010 to 2012. After that, they joined IHS Markit as the Director and Head of European Gas and Power Modelling, where they worked until 2019. From 2019 to 2021, they served as the Head of LNG Analytics at Centrica Energy Trading. Currently, they are the Head of Gas Analysis at EDF Trading.

Dan Clay attended Keele University from 1991 to 1994, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mathematics and Economics. Prior to that, they attended Medina High, although no specific information about the duration or field of study is provided.
