Simon McDonald has extensive experience in the interior design industry. Simon has held various design director positions at reputable companies such as EDG Design, Wilson Associates, Studio HBA, and Axis I.D. Simon has also worked as an associate lecturer at The Manchester Metropolitan University. Simon's career began in 1993 as an interior designer at Whyte by Design, and they have since held senior designer and senior interior designer roles at IACTION - interiors and JGP Architecture (S) Pte Ltd respectively.

From 2017 to 2018, Simon attended The Manchester Metropolitan University, where they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Interior Design.
Between 1990 and 1992, Simon also studied at The Manchester Metropolitan University, completing a degree in Interior Design specializing in 3 Dimensional Design.
From 1988 to 1990, they attended Dewsbury College, where they earned a BTEC Higher National Diploma in Spatial Design.
Prior to that, from 1986 to 1988, Simon studied at Batley Art College, obtaining a BTEC National Diploma in Spatial Design.
Simon's secondary education took place at Colne Valley High School from 1981 to 1986, where they focused on O Level and GCSE's.
In addition to their formal education, Simon has obtained several certifications, including Rhino 7 Essential Training from LinkedIn in July 2023, AutoCAD 2019 Essential Training from LinkedIn in December 2020, and the title of Fellow (FHEA) from the Higher Education Academy in March 2019. Simon has also completed Project 2007 Essential Training from lynda.com and holds membership in SBID® - Society of British & International Interior Design.
