Michael Hodges, MBA, ARM has extensive experience in risk management and safety. Michael currently serves as the Director of Risk Management & Safety at Edgewood Management, where they oversee risk management and safety programs for 176 residential apartment complexes. Michael is responsible for managing claims, designing training materials, and conducting meetings. Prior to this role, they held a similar position at Vantage Management Inc. from April 2022 to August 2023.

Before their current roles, Michael worked as a Risk Manager at Arlington Public Schools from September 2020 to April 2022. In this role, they managed insurance coverages, oversaw incident investigations, and implemented the school system’s risk management framework.

Prior to Arlington Public Schools, Michael was a Sr. Risk Control Consultant at Travelers from January 2019 to September 2020. In this role, they advised clients on risk elimination and mitigation, assessed multi-line risk, and collaborated with underwriting.

Michael also has experience as a Risk Control Consultant at PMA Insurance Group from October 2008 to January 2019. Michael assisted in managing a self-insured worker’s compensation program, improved risk management results for clients, and conducted safety audits.

Additionally, Michael worked as a Property Underwriting Trainee at Colony Insurance Group from January 2007 to June 2008. Michael underwrote property insurance, managed endorsements, and evaluated potential losses.

Earlier in their career, Michael had internships at Atlantic Specialty Lines, where they processed renewal quotes and reviewed property inspections, and at Marsh, where they handled mail, maintained client files, and wrote client letters using the Applied system.

Before their internships, Michael worked as a Teller at SouthTrust Bank, where they safeguarded bank assets and assisted in new business development. Michael also had an internship at HRH, where they managed client files, assisted in proposal organization, and handled materials for clients.

Michael Hodges, MBA, ARM completed their education history with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, specializing in Corporate Finance, from Virginia Commonwealth University. Michael pursued this degree from 2013 to 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the same university, which they completed from 2000 to 2006.
