Sam Illingworth currently serves as a Professor of Creative Pedagogies at Edinburgh Napier University, a position held since February 2021. Prior to this, Sam was a Senior Lecturer in Science Communication at The University of Western Australia, where responsibilities included leading undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Science Communication from April 2020 to February 2021. Sam's experience also encompasses roles as a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Science Communication at Manchester Metropolitan University, as well as a Post Doctoral Research Assistant at the University of Manchester, focusing on greenhouse gas measurements and interdisciplinary communication techniques. Other notable experiences include being a Daiwa Scholar in Japan, where course development and lecturing took place at prominent institutions, and earlier work at the University of Leicester and the Anglo-Australian Observatory. Sam Illingworth holds a PhD in Atmospheric Physics from the University of Leicester and has completed advanced studies in Higher Education.
