Baisong Mei

Baisong Mei, MD PhD, currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Editas Medicine since July 2022. Prior to this role, Baisong held various positions at Sanofi from January 2017 to July 2022, including Senior Global Project Head overseeing clinical developments in rare diseases and leading the fitusiran program and Onpattro collaboration. Baisong also worked at Biogen from April 2010 to January 2017 as Therapeutic Area Head for Hematology, contributing to global approvals of Alprolix® and Eloctate® and leading clinical development programs. Previous experience includes serving as Director of Discovery Research at Biogen and Head of Expression Technologies at Bayer, where Baisong directed protein expression systems and contributed to the development of therapies such as Jivi.
