Madeline Gormley

Director, Branch Services And Community Engagement at EDMONTON PUBLIC LIBRARY

Madeline Gormley has a diverse work experience in the library and arts sectors. Madeline started their career at the Art Gallery of Alberta as a Guest Services Manager from September 2014 to March 2015. Madeline then worked as a Reference Assistant at NAIT from September 2015 to April 2016. Gormley joined Edmonton Public Library in September 2015 and held various positions such as Library Assistant and Summer Programmer until June 2016. Madeline then moved to Kingston Frontenac Public Library as a Librarian for Programming & Outreach, Children's Services from June 2016 to June 2017. Gormley later joined Lethbridge Public Library in July 2017 as the Manager of Information Services until January 2022. Currently, they are the Manager of the Jasper Place Branch at Edmonton Public Library, a position they have held since January 2022. Starting in September 2023, Gormley will take on the role of Director of Branch Services and Community Engagement at Edmonton Public Library.

Madeline Gormley holds a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Alberta, which they completed from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from the same university, which they received from 2012 to 2014. Madeline also has a Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Victoria, which they completed from 2004 to 2008.
