Andrea Bosch has extensive work experience in the field of education and international development. Andrea has held various leadership positions in different organizations, starting in 1994 with the Education Development Center (EDC) where they served as Chief of Party for the T4-India project and Senior Project Director for global initiatives. At EDC, they focused on introducing technology and media-based solutions to improve primary education in India and implemented teacher training systems.
From 2005 to 2007, Andrea worked at the International Youth Foundation as Vice President of Education, where they provided strategic leadership and oversaw positive youth development projects focusing on education and employability. Andrea also served as the Chief of Party for the Education for Employability Alliance project funded by USAID.
In 2007, they joined Creative Associates International as the Chief of Party and Education Advisor for the Egypt Technology for Improved Learning Outcomes project. Andrea directed this $32 million USAID-funded project, aiming to enhance learning outcomes in primary and secondary schools through the introduction of STEM-based pedagogical practices and teacher training.
From 2012 to 2014, Andrea served as Vice President of Asia and the Environment at Internews Network, overseeing programs in media for social change in various Asian countries. Andrea also led the Earth Journalism Network initiative, which aimed to strengthen environmental journalism worldwide.
In 2014, Andrea joined Chemonics International and held multiple roles, including Director for various USAID-funded projects in Asia. These projects focused on promoting rule of law, strengthening justice systems, and improving education outcomes for marginalized girls and boys.
Andrea's most recent position is Chief of Party for the Teacher Excellence Initiative at EDC, starting in 2023.
Andrea Bosch holds a PhD in Education and Symbolic Systems of Education with a minor in Cultural Psychology from Stanford University, which they obtained from 1998 to 2003. Prior to that, they completed their EdM in Education and International Development at Harvard Graduate School of Education. Andrea's undergraduate degree is an AB in Anthropology and Psychology, which they earned from Duke University in 1986.
