Kristen Reed

Kristen Reed has a solid work experience in the education field. Kristen started their career as a 4th/5th grade teacher at Boston Public Schools in 2000 and worked there until 2003. Kristen then joined EDC (Education Development Center) and held various roles in research and project management. Kristen'sroles at EDC include Research Associate from 2003 to 2008, Senior Research Associate from 2008 to 2012, Research Scientist from 2012 to 2017, and Senior Project Manager from 2017 to 2021. Kristen is currently the Managing Project Director at EDC, holding this position since July 2021.

Kristen Reed holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in International and Comparative Education from Stanford University, which they obtained from 1997 to 1999. Kristen also earned a Masters of Education degree in Elementary Education from Lesley University from 1999 to 2000. Prior to this, they completed a MA/BA in Education, Anthropology, and African Studies at Stanford University from 1994 to 1999. Additionally, they have a background in Elementary Education and Teaching from Shady Hill School from 1999 to 2000. Kristen Reed has obtained various certifications, including the Racial Equity Institute from The Racial Equity Institute in 2023, Understanding & Mitigating Implicit Bias from EDC (Education Development Center) in 2021, and Project Management for Development Professionals from APM Group in 2016. Kristen also served as a member of the Teaching Young Children (TYC) Editorial Advisory Board for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in November 2017.
