Daniela Franco Brown

Daniela Franco Brown is an accomplished journalist with a diverse background in editorial leadership and coverage of education, race, and equity. Currently serving as Assistant Managing Editor at Education Week since January 2023, Daniela leads a team of reporters to develop comprehensive coverage on critical social issues. Previously, Daniela held the position of Equity and Education Editor at The Indianapolis Star, where a team was created to focus on education and diversity topics, and a successful subscriber-only newsletter was launched. Daniela also contributed to theSkimm as a writer, crafting the Daily Skimm newsletter, and held editorial roles at Desert Sun Media Group and NBC News, emphasizing social justice and cultural events. Daniela's early experience includes supporting residential life programs at New York University and conducting research at Harvard University, underpinned by a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from NYU Gallatin.
