Jess Cummings has a diverse work experience in the fields of education and theater. They started their career in 2015 as a Production Intern at The Assembly Theater, where they assisted the resident designer and worked in the office. They also served as an Assistant Stage Manager during the rehearsal period. In 2016, Jess worked as a Stage Manager for The Assembly's revival of HOME/SICK and as a Stage Manager for 600 Highwaymen, where they organized schedules and auditions for a highly interactive show. They also gained experience as a Theater Technician at Wesleyan University Center for the Arts. At Wesleyan University, Jess held multiple roles, including Office Assistant, Second Stage Staff Member, and Teaching Assistant. They produced student-run theater shows, managed budgets and technical needs, and served as part of the Outreach and Development team. Jess also worked as an Assistant Counselor at Abrons Arts Center and a Group Mentor at Educational Alliance. Their most recent position at Educational Alliance is as a Community School Director, where they oversee educational programs at public schools, teaching theater, math, literacy, and visual art.

Jess Cummings attended Wesleyan University from 2013 to 2017, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Theater.
