Bindu Balan

Bindu Balan is a seasoned education research professional currently serving as a Senior Education Research Fellow at Educational Initiatives since July 2020, focusing on assessment capacity building. Prior experience includes an independent consultancy in academic content creation from May 2016 to September 2021, and earlier roles as an Educational Fellow at Educational Initiatives from August 2012 to April 2016, and as a Senior Knowledge Developer at Vega Information Systems from July 2005 to August 2012. Bindu's career began in writing and communications with positions such as Student Editor for Coast Report at Orange Coast College and as a Senior Copywriter in Dubai. Bindu holds a Ph.D. in English Literature from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, along with an M.Phil. from the University of Madras, and multiple degrees in English language and literature from various institutions.
