EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
Shannon Murphy has extensive experience in family advocacy and early childhood education, currently serving as a Family Advocate at Educational Opportunities for Children and Families since August 2020. Prior roles include Nanny at Jordan Schnitzer Family, Lead Pre-Kindergarten Teacher at KinderCare Education, and Lead Head Start Teacher at Mid Iowa Community Action Inc. Additionally, Shannon has a background in educational assistance and mentorship, evident from the role as a Research Assistant at Iowa State University and as a Graduate Student Site Leader for Break Away. Earlier experiences include housing and community service internships, demonstrating a commitment to supporting diverse populations. Shannon holds a Master of Science in Human Development & Family Studies and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Work and Family Studies and Sociology from Central Washington University.
