Andrew Eyres is the current Deputy Superintendent of Teaching, Learning & Student Support at ESD 113. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Director for Teaching and Learning at UNIVERSITY PLACE SCHOOL DISTRICT from July 2007 to June 2013. In this role, they were responsible for leading the department to create and foster a vision for excellence in teaching, as well as directing continual improvement in student achievement through program realignment, curricular and programmatic adoptions and professional learning. Additionally, they oversaw the teacher evaluation committee in selecting an instructional framework, collaborating on student growth measures and creating a shared understanding of high quality classroom instruction.
Under their systems leadership, the district restructured, developed, and managed federal and state categorical programs (iGrants), career and technical education, highly capable and Honors/AP programs. Andrew also secured 1 million dollars in competitive grant funding through Math Science Partnership (MSP). Furthermore, they reported to the school board on areas of responsibility and board policies, as well as directed the alignment of district budgets, programs and curricular adoptions to match district’s vision and mission. Lastly, they partnered with local private pre-K-5 schools to align and strengthen programs and transitions.
Dr. Andrew Eyres is an educational leader and policy expert who holds a Doctor of Education from the University of Washington. Andrew also has a Master of Education from the University of Washington Tacoma in Educational Administration and Supervision, as well as a Master of Arts in Urban Poverty Studies from California State University-Dominguez Hills. Dr. Eyres began their educational career with a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Arizona State University and is certified by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction in Superintendent.
Their manager is Dana Anderson, Superintendent. They are on a team with Cherrie Thomas - Executive Assistant, Calvin Brodie - Deputy Superintendent, Business & Operations, and Kristen Jaudon - Senior Director, Communications, Government Relations & Public.
