Dimitris Varoutas

Dimitris Varoutas has a diverse work experience. Dimitris began their career in 1995 as a research staff at the University of Athens. In 2005, they became a faculty member at the University of Athens, Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, where they worked until 2020. During this time, they also served as the Director of the Cultural Technologies Laboratory from 2017 to 2020. Dimitris Varoutas was a member of the Board of Directors at ADAE (ADAE - Greek Independent Authority for Public Revenue) from 2007 to 2016 and at KEPE (Center of Planning and Economic Research) from 2013 to 2015. Dimitris currently holds the position of Vice President at EETT (Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission) since 2020.

Dimitris Varoutas received their Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree in Physics from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon in the years 1987 to 1993. Dimitris then pursued further education and obtained their Master of Science (MSc.) degree in Electronics and Radiocommunications from the same institution during the period of 1993 to 1998. Finally, Dimitris Varoutas completed their academic journey by earning a PhD in Telecommunications from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon between the years 1998 and 2004.
